SaveWave Rental Terms & Conditions
SaveWave Ontario-Wide Rentals
These Rental Terms & Conditions cover everything you need to know about your rental experience with SaveWave – including booking, payments, security deposits, cancellations, delivery, pickup, returns, and item care. Please review them carefully before placing your order to ensure a smooth and hassle-free rental process.
1. Booking & Payment
- Full payment is required at the time of booking regardless of the rental duration.
- No partial payments will be accepted to confirm a booking.
- The rental period begins at the time of delivery or pickup and ends at the agreed return date and time.
2. Delivery & Pickup
- Pickup is always free from our location (1530 Albion Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9V 1B4).
- Delivery Fees (Based on Distance)
- Up to 20 km: Free for orders $50+, otherwise $20.
- 20–40 km: $30 flat fee.
- 40–60 km: $50 flat fee.
- 60–80 km: $75 flat fee.
- 80–125 km: $100 flat fee.
- 125–150 km: $150 flat fee.
- Important: The refundable security deposit counts towards your order total, which may qualify you for free delivery. To check eligibility, add your rental items to the cart, select Local Delivery, and enter your address at checkout.
- Customers must confirm their delivery and pickup time in advance. If no one is available at the agreed time, a redelivery fee will apply, or the rental may be considered canceled without refund.
- Any delays caused by the customer may result in additional charges.
- Customers may request to reschedule their delivery or pickup time with at least 24 hours' notice. Approval of rescheduling requests is subject to availability.
- Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information. Failed delivery attempts due to incorrect details may result in redelivery fees.
3. Security Deposit
- A refundable security deposit will be collected at checkout, calculated as: $25 to $100 (depending on the item) plus 50% of the total rental cost per day.
- For example, if an item rents for $10/day and is booked for 2 days, and the item has a $50 security deposit, the total deposit would be: $50 + (50% of $10/day × 2 days) = $60 deposit.
- The deposit will be refunded within 3–5 business days after the rental items are returned in good condition.
- SaveWave documents the condition of all items before delivery or pickup. Customers must verify and report any issues within 24 hours of receiving their rental. Any damage reported after this timeframe will be considered the customer’s responsibility.
- The following scenarios may result in partial or full forfeiture of the security deposit:
- Damage: If items are returned with visible damage, such as dents, scratches, tears, or structural issues.
- Missing Components: If any parts of the rented items are missing or incomplete upon return.
- Late Returns: If items are returned after the agreed return date without prior approval.
- Improper Use: If items are used in a way that violates the terms of use (e.g., outdoor use when specified as indoor-only).
- Loss or Total Damage: If the rented items are lost or damaged beyond repair, the customer will be required to reimburse SaveWave for the full retail cost of the item. The retail cost will be determined based on the item's current market value at the time of loss or damage.
4. Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event will result in a full refund of the rental fee and security deposit.
- Cancellations made within 7 days of the event will forfeit the rental fee, but the security deposit will be refunded.
- Same-week bookings (booked within 7 days of the event):
- If canceled within 24 hours of booking, a 50% refund of the rental fee will be provided, and the security deposit will be fully refunded.
- If canceled after 24 hours of booking, the rental fee is non-refundable, but the security deposit will still be refunded.
5. Refunds
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 3–5 business days after approval.
- Delivery fees are non-refundable once the rental has been scheduled, dispatched, or attempted. If a customer refuses delivery, the full delivery fee will still apply.
- Late return fees and charges for damaged or missing items are not eligible for refunds.
6. Late Return Policy
- Late returns will incur a fee of $50 per day, per item. For example, if an order includes 5 items and they are returned 2 days late, the late fee will be $500 ($50 × 5 items × 2 days).
- If items are not returned within 3 days of the agreed return date, the customer will be charged the full replacement cost for each unreturned item.
7. Liability
- SaveWave is not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses caused by the use of the rented items.
- The customer assumes full responsibility for the items during the rental period.
8. Inspection & Acceptance
- SaveWave thoroughly inspects and documents the condition of all rental items before delivery or pickup. Photos are taken before handoff to ensure accurate comparisons at return.
- Customers must inspect their rental items upon delivery or pickup and report any issues within 24 hours. Any damages reported after this period will be assumed to have occurred during the rental period and may result in loss of security deposit.
9. Force Majeure
- SaveWave is not responsible for non-performance or delays due to events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or labor strikes.
